Shakespeare

After directing over 1/3 of the Shakespeare canon, I am more convinced that his works are wonderful theatre on many levels including as commentary on contemporary life.   We are actually quite similar to those who lived over 400 years ago and watched these plays performed for the first time.  In each of my productions, I try to illustrate that Shakespeare’s characters share the same basic wants, needs, hopes, and desires as we do.  Great stories are not bound by time periods, language, culture, or other social characteristics — the power of live theatre allows us to translate a familiar story into a non-traditional setting in an engaging and entertaining manner.
